    Anne Tallentire was born in Co. Armagh. She works primarily in video, film, sound, photography, installation and performance. Between 1966-1972 she was taught painting at the Warren Studio, Co. Down, and exhibited at the RUA and RHA 1973-1977.

    In 1983 she studied print at The School of Visual Arts, New York and postgraduate Fine Art Media at the Slade 1986-1988. Since 1984 she has been based in London and currently teaches at Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design. In 1999 she was the sole representative for Ireland at the Venice Biennale; the work at Venice was consequently shown at The Lux Gallery London.
