    Anton Hans Karlinsky studied at the Vienna Academy under Julius Victor Berger and Eduard Peithner von Lichtenfels from 1887 to 1894. After graduating, he temporarily lived in an artists' colony in Fahrafeld. Karlinsky was also a member of the artist's cooperative in Vienna.

    During the First World War, he was eventually employed by the art group after serving three years at the front. After the war he traveled to Germany, Holland, France, Italy, and the Balkans.

    Karlinsky what mainly active as a landscape and portrait painter. His work has been honored with numerous awards.
