Ros y Güell was a Spanish artist who studied at the School of Fine Arts in Barcelona with Benito Mercadé. He was devoted to landscape and rural architecture and gave his works a sentimental expression impregnated with stillness and melancholy, evoking a certain romanticism. He also practiced scenography and painted excellent sets of appreciable quality. He exhibited almost every year in Barcelona galleries such as the Sala Gaspar and participated in numerous competitions and exhibitions held not only in Barcelona but also in Madrid, Paris, Brussels, Vienna, and Buenos Aires, where he received awards and prizes. His works can be found in the Barcelona Museum of Modern Art and in many private collections in Barcelona.
