    Antoni Wippel was a Polish painter and educator born in 1882 in Mikuszowice. He studied painting in Kraków and Vienna, and later at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków with Wojciech Weiss and Julian Falat. During World War I, he served in the Austro-Hungarian army on the Italian front. After returning to Poland, he settled in Kraków and later moved to Lódz in 1929, where he taught drawing in local secondary schools.

    He continued his teaching work also after World War II. Wippel's works were dominated by realistic landscapes, painted in both oil and watercolors. He also painted portraits and still lifes.
