About Antonio Coppola

    Neapolitan painter, born January 21, 1839, he studied at the Institute of Fine Arts in Naples, where he repeatedly won awards.

    A specialist in landscape painting, especially the Gulf of Naples area, he also painted in Athens, Greece, where he resided for two years.

    He created several portraits in Bari, then returning to Naples, exhibiting his work frequently.

    In Rome in 1883 at the National Exhibition, his painting titled "A mouse in the vase", was immediately sold.

    "Al Beveraggio" was rewarded with honorable mention and sold to Mr. Tuckman (American).

    The Duchess Meyrik of Vienna bought another of hs paintings entitled "Lean breakfast".
