    Presents minimal conservation details. Armando Ahuatzi arrived at an early age in Mexico City from Tlaxcala. From that moment on, his context clearly defined the pictorial genre of his work.

    The artist indicates that coming from a traditional context and living near the Jamaica Market were determining factors in choosing still lifes as a format to express his concerns. Carlos Ayala Vallarta was his first teacher, from him he inherited the taste for color and customs that he later exploited in La Esmeralda, where he continued his inclination for realistic and academic painting.
