    Arturo Faldi was born in 1856 and died in 1911.

    Arturo Faldi attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence, the city of his birth. A pupil of painters Michele Gordigiani and Giovanni Muzzioli, Faldi's early worked depict historical and biblical themes.

    At the 1881 Paris Salon, Faldi presented paintings impregnated with the lesson of the Macchiaolins, composed in disappointment of the Tuscan countryside, Arturo studied in plein-ai, accompanied by scenes of rural and peasant life, as evidenced by this painting recounting waiting or the quest for love. In 1889, he painted the same subject, but with a female figure.
