    An exhibitor in the Saint Louis Art League, Augusta Finkelnburg was a landscape painter.

    The following is from Nancy Pendery, an artist from Fort Thomas, Kentucky and a relative of the artist:

    Augusta, although not married, adopted my mother Emma Stroup in, I believe, 1910 when she was seven years old. Augusta was born in 1863 in Fountain City, Wisconsin. The family originally came from Prussia. She had six siblings, information that came from the 1880 census. She is listed in the "Dictionary of Painters, Sculptors and Engravers, (Printed in France 1911) and in Who's Who in American Art 1938-39.
