    Bamse Kragh-Jacobsen (Hans Bernhardt Kragh-Jacobsen) was a Danish painter, jazz pianist and restaurateur born in 1913. He studied in 1933 in Berlin at the Reimann-Schule for Art and Design. Kragh-Jacobsen painted his first non-figurative painting in 1940 and made his debut at Kunstnernes Efterårsudstilling in 1945. Two years later he was a co-founder of Linien II and performed purely concrete works, including Hommage à Piet Mondrian (1947, Esbjerg Art Museum). Later, paintings in strong colors followed with circles and lines as motifs. As a restaurant owner, Kragh-Jacobsen ran Tokanten from Copenhagen from 1945 and Vingården from 1956-79....
