Born in Zielona Góra in 1980, Basia Banda studied at the Faculty of Painting of the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznan from 2001 to 2006 in the studio of Professor Jaroslaw Kozlowski. In 2018, she earned her PhD from the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice. Since 2008, she has been professionally associated with the Institute of Visual Arts at the University of Zielona Góra.

Banda collaborates with the Salony Foundation in Zielona Góra and the Monopol Gallery in Warsaw. Banda practices painting and object art in the aesthetics of pop art, naive art, and comics. She paints, embroiders, and sews attaching beads, glitter, and ruffles, and sewing inscriptions and small, soft elements to her objects, creating forms reminiscent of small altars. ...
