    Basile Poustochkine was a talented artist who worked as a painter, graphic artist, and draftsman. He fought in Poland against the Bolsheviks and later lived in France with a Polish passport. His works presented in Marchand come from the collection of Polish diplomats, Mr. and Mrs. Strzalko. Poustochkine's experiences during the war influenced his personality, and he chose a solitary life away from critics and artistic life. He created landscape studies around Paris, inheriting the achievements of the Impressionists as a post-impressionist. His works show the spirit, colors, and light of nature, and are characterized by a certain nostalgia.
