    Begoña Izquierdo was a Spanish figurative painter born in Bilbao. She moved to Madrid in 1948 to study painting at the Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando. Izquierdo obtained the official title of Professor of Drawing in 1954 and held her first exhibition in 1957. She continued to exhibit her work both in Spain and abroad, specializing in painting and engraving. In 1963, she briefly worked on illustration for children's books and magazines. Izquierdo received the March pension in 1965 and won the Abril de Pintura prize.
