    Bernhard Fiedler ( 1816 Berlin - 1904 Triest ).

    The artist studied at the Berlin Art Academy and was also a pupil of decoration painter Johann Gerst and marine painter Wilhelm Kraus. After he finished his studies in 1843, he lived in Venice, Trieste and Dalmatia. He received the prohibition from King Friedrich Wilhelm IV to paint castles of Count Coll´Alto in Friaul.

    In 1848, he was a drawing teacher by Great Duchess Charlotte, wife of Austrian Duce Maximilian ( later King of Mexico ) in Trieste. Later, Fiedler settled in Trieste and worked for noble houses of Austria and Prussia.
