    Bertram Hartman was an American painter who was born in Junction City, Kansas on April 18, 1882. He studied at the Art Institute of Chicago, and at theRoyal Academy in Munich and Paris. He was a member of the Chicago Society of Artists, National Society of Mural Painters, American Society of Painters, Sculptors and Gravers; and American Water Color Society.

    Hartman exhibited at the Panama-Pacific Exposition in 1915, Carnegie Institute in 1933, Art Insitute of Chicago from 1926 to 1934, Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, The Corcoran Gallery of Art, Whitney Museum of American Art, Brooklyn Museum, Grand Central Palace and in South America in 1940.
