    Birger Ljungquist (b. 1894 in Kisa, d. 1965 in Stockholm)
    Studied at Althins Painting School 1917–18 and the Stockholm Academy of Fine Arts 1919–22
    and studied in Paris, the French countryside, the Netherlands and Switzerland. and
    debuted with "The Thirteen" at Liljevalchs Konsthall in 1928 and
    later exhibited at De ungas salong and Gummessons Konsthall in Stockholm.
    A retrospective exhibition was held at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in 1944 with 330 of his works.
    With lyrical realism, he painted portraits, nature and folk scenes, naked peasant girls in oil or pastel in a blond color scheme. In shimmering watercolors,
