    Bruce Heggtveit (1917 - 2002)

    A popular Ottawa, Ontario painter and art teacher, Bruce Heggtveit (aka: Bruce Allen Heggtveit) was born in Maidstone, Saskatchewan and died in Ottawa where he had lived since childhood. His mediums included oils and pastels. He painted portraits, but his most well known subjects were landscapes, snowscapes, rivers, lakes, shorelines and genre scenes, depicting the rural areas of Ontario, Quebec and Nova Scotia. His styles were Impressionism* and Plein Air Painting*. AskART images have some excellent illustrations of his work.
