He studied watercolor with many of the leading watercolorists in the United States including Dong Kingman, Bob Woods, Edgar Whitney, Terry Madden, Milford Zornes, Frank Webb, Judi Betts, Stephen Quiller and many others. He has participated in courses at Tulane University, Newcomb College, the University of New Orleans and other painting and calligraphy workshops.
