    Carl Jutz, Sr., landscape and animal painter, and father of the landscape painter Carl Jutz, Jr. From 1853-1859, Carl Sr. worked in August Knip's studio in Baden-Baden.

    He was active in Munich since 1861 and in Düsseldorf from 1867. From 1867, he regularly entered work in international exhibitions. He was one of the most important European animal and poultry painters of the 19th century.
