    Carl Kylberg paintings from the thirties constitute, according to the artist's interpreter Brita Knyphausen, principal oeuvre. Strengthened by new found success, Kylberg's working capacity seemed inexhaustible. Finally he had the rightful acclaim from audiences and critics and the resistance of the artist himself termed as "Walls of Jericho" had finally fallen.

    Carl Kylberg, his wife Ruth and their little daughter Lisbeth spent the summer of 1935 in Ystad, Sweden. Normally, summers were spent in Denmark but they had recently changed their Danish residence and the newly purchased house in Aalsgaarde underwent renovations making it impossible for a Danish holiday stay.
