Painter, graphic artist, designer, conservationist and monument conservator (1924 Tannenberg to 2008 Tannenberg), 1940-42 apprenticeship and work as a decorative painter, 1947 master's degree, 1951-56 studied at the Kunsthochschule Berlin-Weißensee under Bert Heller, Arno Mohr, Theo Balden, Toni Mau, Walter Womacka and Kurt Robbel, 1956-57 internship at the Wismut mine in Johanngeorgenstadt, freelance from 1957, at the same time artistic director of painting circles in Zschopau and Annaberg-Buchholz, member of the "Friends of Fine Arts" in the Kulturbund, from 1957 member and 1965-88 chairman of the painting and graphics section of the Association of Visual Artists (VBK) of the GDR ...
