    Carl Wilhelm Müller 1839 Dresden - 1904 ibid. German Romantic landscape painter. Studied at the Dresden Academy of Art from 1854-58. Subsequently a pupil in Ludwig Richter's landscape class until 1864, together with Albert Venus among others. Received several awards and medals. Stays with Richter in Dresden-Loschwitz, Bohemia, the Ore Mountains, and the Harz Mountains. 1865-66 Trip to Rome, Olevano, and Civitella, where he met his former classmates Venus and Mohn. Returns to Dresden. 1869 Marriage to the merchant's daughter Marie Plaul. Created, among other things, four murals based on literary works by Schiller, Hebbel, Weber, and Wagner for the Dresden Opera House. 1880 Stayed in Düsseldorf. 1904 Suicide as a result of a serio...
