Carlos Rios was born in 1958 in Havana, Cuba. From 1965 to 1977 he attended primary and secondary schools, while taking performing arts courses in the system of cultural education in Cuba. In 1975 he began to participate in art exhibitions in the province of Havana, showing landscapes. He graduated in architecture in Havana in 1982.

During 1982 to 1985 he developed the first system based on geometrically spherical perspective. From 1986 to 1994 he dedicated himself to design and took courses in design, ceramics, printmaking and photography. He participated in group exhibitions in Havana.
