About Carol Guzman

  • Biography

    Maintaining a studio in Montana with her husband, Clyde Aspevig, Carol Guzman is a painter of still lifes and landscapes in oil and pastel. In her still lifes, she paint objects life size, and her subjects include flowers, Indian mocassins, animal skulls, and vegetables. As an influence on her still-life painting, she credits the writing of Emil Carlsen, Danish artist. From him she learned the importance of subduing the highlights so that the form of the subject is emphasized.

    Her landscape subjects include the coast of Maine and views of western states.
