    Carry Hauser studied at the Graphische Lehr- und Versuchsanstalt and at the Vienna School of Art.

    After the First World War, he created numerous testimonies of war horror. In 1928 Carry Hauser was President of the Hagenbundes. In 1938, the Nazis imposed a ban on their occupation and ban on exhibitions.

    Carry Hauser wanted to go to Australia, but the outbreak of the Second World War had him stranded in Switzerland. After his return to Vienna, he became general secretary of the P.E.N.-Club and honorary president of the Neue Hagenbundes. As a painter, he enjoyed international renown in the post-war period.
