    Following is an excerpt from the obituary of the Franklin County Daily Journal in Indiana

    Cecil Head who graduated from John Herron Art Institute in 1929, was one of the Market Street artists, along with Floyd Hopper and William Kaeser in the early 1930s.

    The three artists painted in a similar style depicting Americans hard at work. His still lifes depicted farm workers and steel workers.

    “He was one of the finest artists in the state,” said Pam Hicks, who served with Head on the board of the Southside Art League. “He was highly regarded as an artist.”
