    Cesare Bertolotti was born in Brescia in 1854. The painter Cesare Bertolotti studied in his hometown with Roberto Venturi and Achille Glisenti. In the 1870s, he went to Florence and visited the studio of Giuseppe Ciaranfi. In 1879, he moved to Milan and studied with Giuseppe Bertini at the Accademia di Brera.

    From 1880 to 1881, he lived in Rome and worked with Cesare Maccari. In 1882, he met Franz von Lenbach in Munich. Shortly thereafter, he returned to Brescia, where he founded the artists' association 'Arte in Famiglia'. Bertolotti died in 1932. (cko)
