    Charles Green was born 1840. Charles Green was an artist who worked in watercolour and oil paint. He painted portraits, historical, and genre scenes. He was one of the foremost illustrators of the works of Charles Dickens. Van Gogh is recorded as being an admirer of his work. Green exhibited at the Royal Academy, the Royal Institution, the New Watercolour Society, and the Fine Art Society. The sale of his studio was held at Christie's. His works can be seen in the V & A Museum and the Leicester Museum. Other Irish interior scenes by the Artist are recorded. Charles Green passed away in 1898.
