About Charles Ringer

  • Biography

    Born in Minnesota, he learned to love the natural surroundings of his state's rural areas including the wildlife, which is reflected in his kinetic metal sculptures. He likes to take industrial materials and make them into recognizable forms.

    He studied for two years at the University of Colorado and then left to become a full-time artist. He and his wife, Emily, traveled for three years and then settled in Joliet, Montana where they established a home-studio.

    Ringer is one of the artists participating in the Yellowstone National Art Trust, placing work at Old Faithful Inn in Yellowstone National Park. His work is in many collections including the Buffalo Bill Historical Center in Cody, Wyoming, the Los Angeles Museum of Moder...
