Charles Wesley Copeland was born on September 19, 1924 in Winona, Missouri. He was the youngest of 10 children born to John and Anna Copeland. Housing such a huge family with many grandchildren and cousins and in-laws, the Copeland family home became so well-known in Winona that when it was razed many years later, there was a photo and article in the local newspaper, "Winona Landmark to be Torn Down." At age 90, Evelyn (Copeland) Roberts still lives in Winona, and was kind enough to tell me about her brother and put me in touch with her children and nephews, who carry on the family archive of "Uncle Charles", and who provided much of the art and background information for this checklist.
