Chen Hui was born in Yanchen, Jiangsu Province in 1971. He graduated from the Fine Art Department of Nanjing Normal University in 1992 and currently works as a professional artist and photographer in Nanjing. Solo exhibitions in which Chen has participated include: Tang Song - Chen Hui\'s Paintings, Nanjing, 2005; Chen Hui\'s Photographs, Nanjing, 2002 and Surface Layer, which was held at the Aura Gallery, Shanghai in 2001.
