    Lin Chih-Chu was born to a prosperous family in Daya, Taichung. He went to Japan studying elementary school, and then enrolling in Teikoku Art School in Musashino learning Japanese painting for five years. After graduation, Lin started learning under Kodama Kibon (1898-1971). Kibon's drawing is delicate both in techniques and coloring. He is especially good at painting flowers, birds, and animals in natural environment; furthermore, a delight, bright effect on canvas and seasonal atmosphere are the key focus to Kibon.
