Born in Paris in 1956, Chittrovanu Mazumdar studied painting in Ecole des Beaux Arts before attending the Government College of Arts and Crafts in Calcutta, where he graduated with First Class First honors in painting in 1981. Notable solo exhibitions include the show New Work, at the Seagull Gallery, Kolkata (2004); Recent Work at Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai; Bose Pacia Modern, New York (1997); Victoria Memorial Durbar Hall and Sukh Sagar, Kolkata (1991); and at the Academy of Fine Arts presented by Seagull in Kolkata (1985).
