    CLAUDE BREEZE RCA (b. 1938)

    Claude Breeze (aka. C. Herbert) is an expressionist figurative artist whose subjects focus on social commentary, eroticism, ugliness and violence. He has also departed from these themes with works such as a series of ink landscape drawings he did in the early 1970's while he lived in Vancouver, B.C. His mediums are, oils, acrylics, graphics, ink, pencil and photography.

    He was born in Nelson B.C., Canada. He was educated at the Regina School of Art and the Vancouver School of Art. His teachers included Art MacKay, Roy Kiyooka, Ronald Bloore and Ernst Lindner. Francis Bacon, Willem de Kooning and German expressionism were influences which show in many of his canvases. He...
