Colestin Brügner was born in Berlin in 1824. He was a Berlin landscape and marine painter and exhibited at the academy there. Brügner created small-format paintings inspired by seventeenth-century Dutch painting. In the years 1854-1866 he participated in exhibitions at the Berlin Academy of Fine Arts, presenting, among others, winter landscapes. Brügner died in Berlin in 1887.
