    Her father was the famous literary and diplomat don Jesus Urueta and Don Justo Sierra was his great-uncle. Dr. Atl, whom she called "Uncle Murillo", when seeing some portraits made by her, encouraged her to continue drawing. In 1929 she traveled to New York, his political uncle Juan Jose Tablada took her to "Delphic Studios" where Alma Reed invited her to participate in an exhibition with Orozco and Tamayo.

    Her friend the painter Pastor Velázquez presented to the painter Gustavo Montoya, as Cordelia did not have an academic training, she tried to learn from the artists who surrounded her, especially Montoya, who had studied in San Carlos. Thanks to his ingenuity and to the relations that her father had, she obtained an appointment...
