    Curt Ehrhardt saw the "writing of a spiritual movement" in his pictures (quoted from P. Arlt, Der Maler Curt Ehrhardt, Weimar 2002, p. 79). It comes from the artist himself, he said, as a reflex and part of an overarching spiritual movement, his pictures are essentially based on an anthroposophical approach. He wants to see all three times: present, past and future contained in his drawings.

    After visiting an exhibition at the "Sturm", Ehrhardt became convinced that he had to devote himself entirely to modern painting instead of law, and to do so, as he said, "from new intellectual and social perspectives." (quoted from P. Arlt, Der Maler Curt Ehrhardt, Weimar 2002, p. 18).
