    Curt Herrmann, born in 1854 in Merseburg on the Saale, Germany, was a prominent artist known for his portraits, decorative painting, and association with Art Nouveau and Neo-Impressionism. He played a significant role in Berlin's art scene, being a founding member of the "Secession" and the "German Artists' Association." Herrmann was a key figure in introducing French Neo-Impressionism to Germany and organized exhibitions of modern French art. His main creative period was from 1900 to 1912, focusing on themes of the big city before shifting to flower painting later in his career. Herrmann was awarded the title of professor by the Royal Academy of Arts in 1917.
