    Daniel Ponce Montuy, better known as "Montuy", was one of the great exponents of Mexican Muralism in the second half of the 20th century. Also he was a subversive poet, easel painter, and social and cultural activist (he participated in the Mexican protests of October 2, 1968).

    Montuy initially stood out in easel painting since the end of the sixties, and in 1972 he began to make murals, commissioning his first two murals in his homeland: Tabasco.

    He was active until 2005 (year of his death). He made more than 30 murals between Mexico City and Tabasco, in addition to numerous easel works, of which 30 important paintings are in Malaga (Spain) in a private collection, which constitute the largest number of Montuy's artwor...
