    Based in Seattle, where he is a part of the studio glass movement led by his father, Paul Marioni and Dale Chihuly, founder of the Pilchuck School of glassblowing, Dante Marioni has established a reputation for glass-blown vessels in minimalist style. He was named by his father for the Italian poet, Dante Alighieri, and, working in his father's studio after school, was brought up exposed to glassblowing as a profession. However, his father was careful not to pressure his career choice, and Dante Marioni is credited as taking the initiative for his own achievements and innovations.
