About Daryl Poulin

  • Biography

    A painter of cowboy and Indian and other western subjects, he was born and raised in Maine, was in Korea with the Army in the late 1960s, and then studied painting for two years at the Art Institute of Chicago.

    He earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in graphic design from the Portland Maine School of Art. Following a career in commercial art in Wisconsin and South Dakota, he began painting in his spare time and decided to paint only the West. His first painting sold to actress Melanie Griffith. In 1993, he created the commemorative print for the 75th anniversary of the Buffalo Bill Cody Stampede.
