    Wu Dayu (1903-1988) Born in Yi Xing city of Jiang Su Province, Wu Dayu is an outstanding modern oil painter and an art educator, also one of the earliest oil painting exploiters in China and one of the founders of Chinese modern painting. The rich Southeast of China has gestated one talent's art spiritulism. When he was 15 years old, he went to Shanghai and learned from a famous painter Zhang Yuguang. At the age of 17, he became an art editor of Shen Paper. In 1922, he studied in France and learned oil painting from professor Lu Le at National Advanced Art School of Paris, since then he studied sculpture at sculptor Buerdile's studio.
