Dean Davis was born in 1942 in California. In the early sixties he studied painting at the Carmel Art Institute. At the age of 28 he quit his job as a teamster for a steel company and stepped onto the world of art, and has been doing it ever since. For 16 years he lived in Europe. There he worked on his poetic, sensitive, and witty art objects: The Flying Machines, wall pieces, and steel sculpture.

Through numerous one-man and group exhibitions in Germany, France and Switzerland he earned international acclaim. His work is shown in various museums, established galleries, and international art fairs; also in private and corporate collections such as Ford Motor Corporation, Volkswagen, Nissan, Camel Cigar...
