About Dimos Braesas

    Born in Aitoliko, Dimos Braesas studied at the School of Fine Arts and graduated in 1909.

    He was a conservative painter, and cultivated an impressionistic style with abstract color and schematic simplifications.

    He also used rich and dense color paste with slightly shiny and harmonic tones to give simple everyday matters. He dealt with painting landscape and portraiture.

    In 1944 he was president of the Artistic Chamber of Greece.

    He presented his work in many solo exhibitions from 1920 to 1963 including the Venice Biennale in 1934. He won the bronze medal in the Exposition Internationale in Paris. His works are in the National Gallery of Athens.
