    Donald Frache (1919 – 1994)

    A prominent Alberta, Canada painter, draftsman, illustrator, commercial artist, and muralist, Donald Frache (aka: Donald Alwin Frache) was born in Grand Forks, British Columbia, Canada and died in Lethbridge County, Alberta, Canada, where he had lived since shortly after birth (see footnote 1). He studied at the famous Chouinard Art Institute*, Los Angeles; illustrated for the Canadian Home Journal (Toronto) and Liberty Magazine (New York City); and, painted murals for the Calgary International Airport and the Cave and Basin National Historic Site, Banff, Alberta. Several of his paintings are in the collections of the Alberta Foundation for the Arts (Edmonton), the Galt Museum & Archives (Lethbridge), ...
