    Studied at the Metropolitan School of Art (Gloucester summer school), School of the Museum of Fine Arts- Boston, Massachusetts Normal School of Art, Charles Woodbury School (Ogonquit), Grand Central Art School (NYC), Hoffmanschule (Munich, Capri).

    Private lessons with Phillip Leslie Hale, Henry Webster Rice, Gifford Beal, William Lester Stevens.

    Operated Barton Photography Studio Fitchburg, MA, Occupational Therapist MA Dept. of Mental Diseases to 1970.

    J.F. Murphy Prize for best work by artist under 40 (National Academy of Design-1929).
