About Doris Anne White

    Doris Anne White was born in Eau Claire, Wisconsin on July 27, 1924. White began her studies at the Layton School of Art in Milwaukee, continued at the University of Berne in Switzerland, and earled a degree from the Art Institute of Chicago.

    She then taught at Layton School and worked as a commercial artist in Milwaukee until becoming a full-time painter in 1961.

    From her studio in Jackson, Wisconsin came award-winning watercolors, mostly abstracted impressions of nature. Unmarried, she died in Grafton, Wisconsin on September 5, 1995.
