    A wide-ranging artist, Ebba Rapp was accomplished in ceramic sculpture, painting, printmaking and enameling. As a painter, she was especially noted for portraiture and did numerous commissions of religious subjects for churches. She was also active as a teacher and promoter of craft-related activities in the Northwest.

    Rapp graduated from the Cornish School in Seattle and then studied at the University of Washington during the summers of 1935 and 1936 with sculptor Alexander Archipenko. In 1938, she began teaching at the Cornish School, and her classes included anatomy, drawing and sculpture.
