Edie Fake is an American artist, illustrator, author, ad transgender activist born in 1980.

On the evening of March 15, 2020, following the announcement of the first lockdown in the Netherlands, Dutch artist FAKE created, Super Nurse, in recognition of the heroic effort being made by healthcare workers around the globe in the burgeoning battle against COVID-19. An emblem of hope, bravery and solidarity, the Super Nurse instantly gained popularity, becoming a universal emblem of gratitude for the doctors and nurses who were making the ultimate sacrifice, working countless hours and isolating themselves from family members to protect us during an unprecedented global health crisis.
