    Edmund Berninger (Arnstadt, Thüringen 1843 - Leipzig 1929) - German painter-landscape painter; initially he worked as a pharmacist, later he took up artistic studies in 1870-1874 and was educated at the Kunstschule in Seimeter under the direction of Teodor Hagen.

    He lived in Munich constantly, in 1903 he was in Paris. He took numerous long trips, including to England, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Greece, Palestine, Algeria, Tunisia, he was in Constantinople and in Egypt, where he probably lived for several years).

    He painted oil and watercolors, creating numerous landscapes from Italy, as well as city views from Jerusalem or Cairo and colorful eastern scenes (markets, caravans). He was the author of panoramas and dioram, ...
