    Edward Dwurnik (born in Radzymin on 19 April 1943) studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw (1963-1970), but mentions Nikifor as his "master". His works, seen for the first time in 1965, inspired the then-year student to draw the first works from the cycle "Travels hitchhiking", which continues to this day.

    In 1972-1978 a series of "Athletes" was created, in which they were portrayed, we add - roughly, typical figures from the 70s. In parallel from 1975, the "Workers" cycle was created, which culminated in the "Solidarity" period 1980-1981. For his work in this series, Dwurnik received the Artistic Critics Award in 1981.
